Why

Teer & Co represents my personal appreciation of beautifully designed and handcrafted sustainable wood furnishings. One that’s grown from working with many talented designers since the 1980s, and from developing an understanding of great design and refined workmanship.

An independent British home furnishings business, Teer & Co has come to the market for some very good reasons:

• To celebrate and support the traditional craftsmanship of emerging and established furniture designer-makers
• To support the movement towards authenticity, wellbeing, sustainability and people that appreciate and want to own objects with genuine provenance and soul
• Because sustainability, craft and making are important aspects of our society, environment, culture and economy
• To encourage bringing nature into the environments we inhabit for work, rest or play.
• To acknowledge the wellbeing that can be derived from traditional craftsmanship as a rewarding path to successful living
• To engage in the arts in many guises creates happier and healthier people
• And on a personal note, to remember the craft and furniture-making skills of my parents Jean and Kenneth Teer.
