About Teer & Co

Teer & Co is an online independent British retail business that trades through www.teerandco.com where we reserve all rights and copyrights for its content in conjunction with the designer-makers featured. Teer & Co exists, first and foremost, to celebrate and support the traditional craftsmanship of emerging and established designer-makers of authentically handcrafted contemporary wood furnishings.

Privacy Policy

Your privacy is important to us. We respect and value your privacy as much as we do our own. Any personal information that we receive is wholly confidential and will not be shared with any other parties. We only use the information we collect about you carefully, lawfully and in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998.

Information we hold: 

If you have shopped with us we will hold your name, address, telephone number and email address. We will also hold the delivery address(es) for your orders and maintain a record of your product selections.

If you have requested or participated in our marketing communications or completed feedback we may request from time-to-time then we will hold your name, address, telephone number, email address.

Information we use:

We use the information we hold on your records for operational purposes; for example processing your order, dealing with queries, tracking deliveries, reviewing past purchases.

We also use the information to keep you up to date with Teer & Co sending emails and marketing communications as and when appropriate.

Purchasing

By agreeing to our Terms & Conditions you the customer are confirming that you are 18 years old or over, otherwise you will have permission from your parents. All products remain the property of Teer & Co until payment is received for both product and delivery. The price applicable is that set at the date on which you place your order.

The products you will see in our Collection are made by hand by highly skilled craftsmen at workshops located mostly across the UK and some overseas. We only sell products that we believe to be of the highest quality. The timbers used by our independent designer-makers are sourced from sustainable forests and processes used have not caused unnecessary pollution or environmental damage.

We will do our utmost to ensure that all products are clearly and accurately described and that they arrive safely and to our customers' satisfaction. All products are handmade so there will be slight variations from product to product - please allow for this.

Each product description contains information about materials, dimensions, lead times and delivery costs and we will strive to keep this information up to date.

When you place an order through our online Collection, you will be automatically sent an Order Confirmation by email after making a purchase. This acts as a receipt and includes an order summary. We will contact you if there are any problems with your order. You may cancel your order within 7 days. If the item has been dispatched simply return it to us for a full refund, minus the delivery costs.

Secure Shopping

The Teer & Co online Shop allows you to purchase securely online, in a safe environment through Stripe on Squarespace, using the latest security technology to protect our customers.

We accept all major credit and debit cards (Visa, Mastercard & American Express) through Stripe, a secure payment system. Stripe is certified to PCI Service Provider Level 1, the most stringent level of certification. All payments are extremely secure through Stripe.

We encrypt your credit card information to ensure your transactions with us are private and protected as they travel over the Internet.

We accept orders only from web browsers that permit communication through Secure Socket Layer (SSL) technology – this means you cannot inadvertently place an order through an unsecured connection. Modern browsers will warn you if your data is sent unencrypted – if you see one of these warnings, please contact us using the form on the contact page.

Your payment details are held in an encrypted format by our payment provider Stripe on Squarespace. This encryption makes it virtually impossible for unauthorised parties to read any information that you send us.

Pricing

With the exception of our 2D and 3D Wall Panels which are made to order overseas and are priced in Euros per 1m2, all prices in the Teer & Co online Collection are shown in GBP. A delivery charge to mainland UK is included in some but not all prices shown in the Teer & Co online Collection, so please read the details provided for each item carefully to understand whether delivery to mainland UK is included or will be additional to the price shown. Any crating requirements for overseas shipping are not included and would be charged extra accordingly. Prices displayed throughout this website were accurate at the time of publication. We price our products fairly and work hard to supply the highest quality goods at the best price possible, we do however reserve the right to change pricing at anytime without notice.

Bespoke Orders

Bespoke orders require a 50% deposit to process the order with the balance made payable prior to delivery. We regret that bespoke orders placed cannot be altered, suspended or cancelled once production has commenced except with our written consent and on terms which will indemnify us against loss.

Delivery

All items in the Teer & Co online Collection are made to order, so the time taken for your item to be made and delivered will vary depending on; the type of product chosen and the variable lead times provided by our individual designer-makers and their respective locations across the UK.

Please note that our 2D and 3D Wall Panels are made to order overseas and delivery and import tax duty on these will be charged extra according to individual order requirements. On UK based made to order items, we estimate that your item will typically arrive with you between 4-12 weeks from placing your order with us, however, we try to reduce this time where possible. We will notify you once your order has been placed letting you know a date for delivery, making sure it arrives on a day to suit you. Please ensure that you provide us with an address where there will be someone to sign for and take receipt of the item.

Mainland UK delivery charges (consists of England, Wales and Scotland excluding Highlands & Islands) are included on some but not all prices shown in the Teer & Co online Collection as follows:

Small size products, including for example small side tables, small lamps and small stools, at £20
Medium size products, including for example chairs and most benches, at £60
Large size products, including for example dining tables and large storage units, at £150

Product sizes and weights vary considerably, hence the difference in costs.

If you are located outside of mainland UK, please email us at simon@simonteer.com with your full name, contact details, delivery address and the product(s) you are interested in. We will then let you know applicable shipping charges and will advise how best to process your order from there.

We happily ship our work internationally. The delivery address and access information should be made clear at the point of enquiry so the cost can be included in our quotations and invoices.

Please note that import duty is additional to the cost of delivery and is payable by the customer.

Refunds and Returns

Available to mainland UK addresses only (consists of England, Wales and Scotland excluding Highlands & Islands), if your item is not suitable and just doesn’t ‘fit’ then under Distance Selling Regulations (DSRs) you can return the items to us within 14 days of receipt of your goods for a full refund (excluding delivery charges as applicable).

Items should be unused, returned in their original packaging and in a fully resalable condition. Customers will be responsible for payment of the return delivery. 

To qualify for a refund you must notify us in writing within 7 days of receipt of your order either by email to simon@simonteer.com or by post to Teer & Co, 76 Aldenham Road, Bushey, Hertfordshire WD23 2ND and arrange to return the product within 14 days to an alternative address that we will provide.

If you request a refund, we will refund the amount you paid for your goods excluding the original delivery and the charge for returning the goods, unless faulty or damaged. The original delivery charge is non-refundable.

We will refund the original credit/debit card used for the purchase as soon as the goods have arrived back with us, or offer an exchange or replacement. Please note that refunds can take up to 10 working days to be received following receipt of the goods.

If you fail to take reasonable care of the goods before they return to us and this causes the damage or deterioration of the products, we will charge you for the difference in value.

Any products returned should be unused and in their original packaging. Therefore, please check your goods thoroughly to ensure you are satisfied before disposing of your packaging.

Products that are made to a non-standard specific order to include all of our seating (the made to order furniture) cannot be refunded, unless there is a fault with the product.

Please check before making a purchase that an item can be delivered into the space you wish. This includes checking hallways and door frames throughout the property. If an item cannot be delivered it will be returned to the respective designer-maker's workshop or warehouse and a delivery return fee will be charged. Charges will also apply to cancelled deliveries, or failed deliveries or return collections.

Faults

If we make a mistake, the most important thing to do is to put it right. In the unlikely event a damaged or faulty product has been delivered, we will do our utmost to rectify the error as quickly as possible to the satisfaction of the customer.

If your purchase from Teer & Co has a fault, please notify us by email immediately at simon@simonteer.com. We will assess the problem and if there is an inherent fault with the piece then, to minimise our impact on the environment, we will by agreement arrange to either; 

1. help you fix the issue in situ, 

2. repair it for you, or replace any defective part/s, or 

3. fully replace the entire piece where appropriate and re-use the old piece.

If neither of these three options are possible, we will offer a full refund including our delivery costs. Customers will not be responsible for payment of the return delivery where the product is damaged or faulty.

If a product becomes faulty during ownership by the customer then we will conduct a review with the customer of the damage starting with a written explanation from the customer as to what has occurred and how the product has become faulty.

We will then make an assessment, to the best of our ability, of whether the customer has taken reasonable care of the product during ownership or whether the product has failed to perform as intended. We will then make recommendation to the customer as to the most appropriate course of action.

Photography and Website Content

Teer & Co products are photographed to show them off in their best possible natural light, and always attempt to give a true representation of the piece itself. It is possible that colours may vary ever so slightly to the ones you see on your screen. We also try to give the most accurate measurements possible for each product but please be aware these may vary a touch as each item is unique.
