We’re chuffed to be welcoming the very talented Matt Podesta into the Teer & Co fold of Designer Makers. Matt joins us to offer his skills as an experienced designer of handcrafted furniture that we can have made by our skilled makers to support our management of bespoke commission work for interior designers, architects and private clients.
Matt is an award-winning designer of contemporary and classic free-standing and fitted domestic furniture and kitchens. He believes a strong sense of proportion and the right materials go hand-in-hand. His passion for architectural design, shapes, structures and materials – both classical and contemporary – is a huge influence on his work.

Working with designers throughout my career since the mid 80s I’ve seen most scenarios there could be playing out around designer-client engagement and the resulting dynamics and behaviours that are formed between them. Everything I’ve learnt about working with designers, client service, process, project management and being proactive is now poured into Teer & Co to the betterment of how custom and bespoke projects run and how we look out for both our Designer-Makers and clients by taking the middle ground and steering the proceedings.

Here's a stunning installation made in February at a private villa in France of the beautiful Decorative Panelling we offer in our Collection. These panels are typically used for interiors, however this example of an exterior installation was applied by the customer to his front door using our detailed guidelines. Makes quite an impactful first impression, and certainly brings a touch of glamour!

Great to spend time at the Surface Design Show in the Business Design Centre, which opened its Loyalty Lounge to BIID Members and Industry Partners. BIID President Lindsey Rendall hosted a talk with Robert Thake of Robert London Design and Helena Martin of Hollaway Studio about how the dynamics of building relationships differs between large and small practices.
This was followed by informal networking between Interior Designers and Industry Partners.

Delighted to kick off the new year by sharing a couple of new pieces we've introduced to the Collection, which can be customised to specific proportions or timber preferences if required.
The Auckland Cabinet combines a clean minimal outer case in fumed oak with large chamfers that lead into subtly textured ebonised slatted doors that slide across the opening giving flexible storage options.
The Kingslee Side Table (live edge), designed with an art-deco vibe, has bent laminated fumed oak legs with brass splines for strength. It incorporates a section of live edge, a nod to the natural form and material being used and a beautiful contrast to the defined and crafted base.

You may be aware of the 2D and 3D Wall Panels we offer through our online Shop that bring warmth, nature and wellbeing into residential and commercial spaces. The makers of these beautiful panels have been quietly working on a research and development project since 2020 to develop these panels and the acoustic properties of wood. In July 2021 we were approached by interior designers Olivia Outred to make a custom version of the standard Conholt Desk in oak (shown above) for their private client in St John’s Wood, London.
So the custom project team comprised the interior designers Olivia Outred and their private client, and ourselves to coordinate the custom order with furniture designer-maker Tim Evershed.

Here’s a very recent installation of our beautiful 3D Wall Panels in the home of a valued private client. Our wall panels were chosen and installed by our client to complete a media wall in their spacious living room. Based in South Yorkshire, our client chose the PYRAMID model from the 3D EDGE series in Natural stain colour to finish. Just under 6 square metres were required to cover the two wall areas either either side of the TV.
